Design Engineer - Process & Piping

Education: Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering


Experience: 3 to 4 years


Industry: Mining, Mineral Processing, Water Treatment, Oil & Gas, R&D.


Preferred Software / Tool Knowledge: Autocad Plant 3D (or) Equivalent / Inventor


Job Location: Chennai


Job Description:

  • The position will be required to handle design projects involving plant layout, piping layout, piping design, P&ID's, general arrangement and piping isometric drawing preparation.

  • The successful applicant should be hands-on with 3D modelling tools and should be able to prepare P&ID's, 3D plant layouts, piping layouts, piping skids, generation of 2D general arrangement drawings and piping isometrics.

  • The position should be able to review, analyze and understand the process, piping and plant layout requirements and the P&ID's from the customer and be able to create a design that delivers a high-quality result.

  • The successful applicant should possess good knowledge of international piping standards and implement best-practice processes.

  • The successful applicant should possess good interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work cohesively in a team environment.

  • Applicants should be experienced in design analysis and FEA.

  • The successful applicant should be hands-on with 3D modelling tools and be able to prepare 3D models of heavy machinery and equipment and detailed drawings.

  • The successful applicant should be able to review, analyze and understand the design requirements from the customer and be able to create a design that delivers a high-quality result.

  • The successful applicant should possess solid experience in machine design with the ability to model the design and produce detailed drawings.

  • A high level of knowledge in design and material standards will be expected and have good interpersonal and communication skills and able to work cohesively in a team environment.
